How to Make a Picture Frame Jewelry Holder

If you have a lot of jewelry but don’t know where to put it, we have the perfect DIY project for you. It’s really simple, and you can find all of the supplies at one store. This DIY jewelry holder is especially neat because it holds more than just necklaces. The corkboard allows you to display your earrings, and the rack is the perfect spot for your bracelets. Here are the complete instructions on how to do this fun and easy project.

What you will need:

1. Corkboard Tile
2. Hot glue gun
3. 7  1-inch cup hooks
4. ¼-inch wooden dowel
5. Wooden picture frame
6. Drill (optional)

Everything on this list can be found at most craft stores. There is a wide selection of picture frames to choose from. With this DIY project, you can choose any shape or size that you like.

We decided to use this nifty picture frame made from a wooden drawer. Just be sure that you buy a wooden dowel that’s the same width of your frame.

As far as the corkboard goes, make sure you choose one that’s at least ¼-inch thick so that your earrings will stay put. We found this decorative corkboard tile from the same craft store!

1. First, glue the corkboard tile to the back of the frame. If you need to cut the tile to fit your frame, be sure you measure twice and cut once. Once you have figured out how you want to position the tile, use the hot glue gun to attach the corkboard onto the frame.

2. Next, you’ll install the bracelet rack. We suggest you place it a third of the way up from the bottom of your frame. This will give you enough space above the rack to place your earrings on the corkboard and space below the rack for your larger bracelets to hang. Measure and mark spots on either side of the frame. Screw in a cup hook at each mark. Now you can place your wooden dowel on the hooks.

Note: If you want to make this step quicker, use a drill to install the cup hooks, instead of twisting them in manually.

3. Finally, screw in the other cup hooks for a place to put your necklaces. If you don’t want to eyeball it, measure the bottom of your frame. Next, make marks that are equally spaced and screw in your five hooks.

Voilà! You did it! Now all you need to do is find a place to hang your beautiful creation. Our favorite thing about this DIY project is that you can put as much of your personality into it as you want. Paint the frame if you want it to match something particular in your room. Add glitter to the wooden dowel to really make it pop. Spray paint the corkboard to add pizzazz. The options are endless!

We hope you enjoyed making it as much as we did! Share your photos on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, so we can feature it on our page. If you love your new frame, but you’re missing the jewelry, we have plenty!
