Press On Nail Hacks: Easy Tips for Using & Applying

Press On Pizazz

The effects of lockdown might still be lingering, but that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice pampering yourself. And, while we might not be able to have our nails professionally done, there’s a way to capture some of that magic for your next Zoom call. Press on nails are seeing a serious resurgence. With so many salons being closed due to COVID-19, acrylic press on nails are being seen as a viable alternative.

Many women are opting to use these products in lieu of in-person appointments. Luckily, press on nails are easy to use. Plus, they are a great way to get a stylish look without a ton of work. There’s not much prep time when compared to the salon. So, no more waiting for your nails to dry, and no anxiety from that unexpected chip!

So, instead of your next coat of polish, why not try some long press on nails instead? It’s easier than you think! These days, there are options for every lifestyle. I spoke with the beauty buying team at Shop LC for some tips and tricks for an easy at-home process.

How long do press on nails last?

For most people, press on nails last about 5 to 10 days. However, they’re a little more fragile than a professional manicure. A tip from the team is to save the extra nails and glues to make repairs as-needed.

How to remove press on nails

Using a small glass or ceramic bowl, soak your nails in an acetone-based remover. Check every ten seconds. They should come off easily. Or, you can use a specialty glue remover.

Once they’re all off, wash and dry your hands. Apply a cuticle oil after. Give your nails a break until the next pair. Most experts suggest about a week.
