FASHION DAY: CULTIVATING A NEW GENERATION OF DESIGNERS

WHAT IS FASHION DAY?

Fashion Day was recently introduced in 2016. The day is recognized on July 9th each year. It's gained popularity as it promotes freedom of expression through fashion.

We're a culturally diverse country that offers everyone equal opportunity to express themselves. While fashion is often seen as a status symbol, it is more than that!

It's a means for people to express their identity and emotions. It's this element that makes this day joyful.

THE FASHION COLLECTIVE

This program aims to provide insights into the development cycle, supply chain, and production process of Shop LC. Also, students learned about our audience and their interests.

Top students were asked to bring business ideas and designs for consideration. The judges were impressed by their creative minds.

Each student presented their plan to Shop LC and guest judges from the Austin fashion community, including Dr. Gwendolyn Hustvedt and Kasia Romo, Professors at Texas State University, and Matt Swinney of Fashion by Texas. Students directly pitched their original designs to the panel. 

After judging, those with great ideas will be considered for production. Students received a cash award and will also get a percentage from sales, if their design is produced. 

This kind of event surely boosts the confidence level of the participants giving them insights into the fashion industry. Furthermore, Shop LC can take an idea from concept to creation to sales. As a result, the whole process stays within our vertically integrated business.

Real world experience helps give an objective perspective to the students, which is pretty much required for this industry.

We love Fashion Day! And why would not we? It allows us to express our unique style and express ourselves. So, who cares what others think?

It's a day to celebrate the individual and their unique fashion sense. This day is all about experimenting and trying out new styles, whether clothing, makeup, jewelry, or accessories.
