Today we are sharing some of these milestones with you. 

SHOP LC MILESTONES

• Recognized as an Austin Green Business in 2020
• Nominated for Austin Large Business Ethics Award 2021 & 2022
• Named a Great Place to Work in 2021
• Provided over 35 Million Meals through our Your Purchase Feeds Program
• Helped plant 900 Saplings in the City of Austin with the help of Tree Folks
• Donated over $20,000 in clothing & supplies to high-schoolers and mothers with home insecurities
• Converted all of our electric power to renewable energy
• Started a recycling and composting program for our 500+ employees
• A new LEED Certified campus for U.S. operations

VGL MILESTONES

Our parent company VGL is much farther along in its journey. We continue to learn from them daily and look to them as role models of where we want to go as a company in the US.

• Energy - VGL owns its solar farms. These facilities power two of our jewelry manufacturing facilities. Anyone who purchases jewelry from Shop LC can know there is a good chance it was created with 100% solar power.
• Water harvesting - A lot of water goes into the jewelry manufacturing process. Harvesting rainwater, recycling, and cleaning water help conserve valuable water.
• Planting a Miyawaki Forest - currently at 26,000 saplings
• More than 80 electric scooters for employees to commute to work, reducing the need for fuel filled buses.
• LEED Platinum Certified buildings.
