Where are you originally from?

Born in New York and raised in Virginia, I found myself ready for adventure when the LC from Austin, Texas called. Life in Virginia was all about taking care of business, attending college and working part-time at a traffic and weather show. The story begins when the network contacted one of my professors inquiring about recent graduates who had experience in broadcasting and might be interested in making the move to Texas. I sent out a demo reel, interviewed and got the job!

Had you ever been to Texas before you were relocated?

No, I’d never been to Texas so I rolled up my sleeves and did a little research. Top of my concerns was moving away from my family and friends. I liked what I saw and jumped right into selecting an apartment sight unseen. Human resources met us as a group and I began the journey of making new friends at an amazing company in Austin.

How did you feel about making such a big decision?
I had never done something like that before, and I’m really close to friends and family, so I had to leave a lot of people behind. It was pretty gutsy, but I love it and it has been an incredible ride. I came here for an amazing opportunity, and it’s been amazing ever since.
What is your favorite thing about working for the LC?

Just being around great people! I’m excited about what I do. The interactions with customers and our family members are some of the best things for me. It’s nice to be able to offer great deals. I’m the type of person that loves a good bargain. It’s cool that I get to come to work and share that with everyone out there who watches the network. It’s like “girlfriend time.” Soc
ial media gives us a platform for people to really reach out and express themselves. Even though I’m selling jewelry, it’s nice to hear from people saying, “I enjoyed the show. You make me smile. You got me through the day.” I think that’s the best part of the gig.

Any memorable moments as far as fans go?
I have a fan that sends me letters. She’s not in touch with social media and doesn’t have a Facebook page. She lost her husband and she shared with me that watching the show meant a great deal to her.  She said I’m family to her, like a daughter. Knowing that you make a difference in their lives based on the things that you say or that you put smiles on their face is what makes a difference. Everyone that writes in and shares those little things with me, it means the world. It makes it all worth it.
What types of things do you do outside of work?

I enjoy volunteer work and as much traveling as possible. A favorite vacation spot for me is the beaches of the Caribbean. I love music and dancing. I’ve been dancing since I was a baby. I’m from Puerto Rico, so that’s kind of in my roots. I also enjoy horseback riding and trying new foods.

Have you traveled for the LC before?

I recently took a trip to India with the LC, and it was awesome. I think these trips help us put things into perspective in terms of what we do behind the scenes. I’m glad that LC hosts and other people in the company get this opportunity to travel. It’s educational and eye opening to learn the different steps that it takes to manufacture jewelry and the fact that we can offer it at a low price is just incredible. I was able to experience the same thing when I first joined the company. We went to Thailand. It’s nice to see different parts of the world and to see how it all comes together.

Anything else you want to add about your time at the LC?
It’s so nice to know that I make some sort of impact in our viewer’s lives, whether it is through a really good deal or making them laugh. It’s nice to be able to be that person.
