As lovers of all things trending, we spend each December eagerly awaiting the announcement of Pantone’s buzzed-about Colors of the Year. After a string of bold hues (including 2015’s Marsala, 2014’s Radiant Orchid, and 2013’s Emerald) comes the unexpected. This year, Pantone released not one, but two colors! Rose Quartz, a pastel pink, and Serenity, a periwinkle blue. Together, the shades reflect a chic peacefulness.
The soothing, calming nature of color in the Spring collection is led by Rose Quartz, a persuasive yet gentle tone. Though the hue conveys compassion and composure, it’s no pushover and can stand in any room quite well on its own. For a peppy look, pair it with Peach Echo.
Despite its hue, this Pantone color is unlikely to leave you feeling blue. Weightless and airy like the expanse of the blue sky above us, Serenity can comfort anyone with a calming touch, giving respite even in turbulent times. A transcendent blue, the color emits a naturally connected sense. Paint the largest wall in your bedroom this color, and drift away in a deep, dreamless sleep that can’t but leave you refreshed.
How do you plan to incorporate these Colors of the Year into your wardrobe this season?
