Supporting Returning Staff and Educators
Giving back to our community is a core part of Delivering Joy. And, with school coming back in session, many are concerned about how our new normal will affect daily life. However, the important thing to remember is that we’re all in it together, and we need to help how we can.
While we are dedicated to meeting our students and staff’s needs to ensure safety, we welcome and are grateful for the support of our community partners like Shop LC who work with us to provide additional aid during times of need.
Many parents are making a tough choice about whether to send their kids back to school or opt for distance learning. Shop LC wants to be there for those parents, children, and educators who are present for in-person instruction.
“Shop LC has the privilege of donating 7,000 masks and cases of hand sanitizers to the Round Rock Independent School District (RRISD) in Austin Texas,” says Amit Agarwal, Shop LC President. “This donation will provide protection for their 55 schools.”
Masks will be distributed to returning teachers and support staff returning for the 2020/21 school year.
“Since March, we have worked under the principles of prioritizing student and staff safety, focus on equity, and stay flexible when developing our educational plan, resources, and services in this ever-changing world,” said Superintendent Dr. Steve Flores.
“Through our principles, we were able to proactively plan during the summer for multiple scenarios for learning in the fall to ensure the safety of security of staff and students if in-person classes were to resume or if virtual learning were to continue. During the planning for multiple scenarios, unexpected needs like additional technology devices and personal protective equipment were identified. While we are dedicated to meeting our students and staff’s needs to ensure safety, we welcome and are grateful for the support of our community partners like Shop LC who work with us to provide additional aid during times of need.”
Shop LC is continuing to share face masks with those in need. To date, over 100,000 face masks have been donated to frontline workers in 34 states.
