Face Masks Going to Healthcare Workers and Others
Many of our customers are part of the vulnerable population. These are people who cannot easily leave their homes and have no one to turn to during a critical time.
Back in January, when the risk of the virus coming to the US became known, our customers began calling us, requesting these products be made available to them. For these reasons, we decided to make face masks, hand sanitizer, and other essential products available to our customers because they cannot obtain them on their own.
It’s unlikely that a business is ever prepared for something as unprecedented as the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the Shop LC team was able to immediately shift and acquire essential items to help Shop LC customers and frontline workers during the ‘Stay Home, Stay Safe’ orders by acquiring items like face masks and hand sanitizer.
We have the ability to get them direct to their door. We hope that we help our customers and frontline workers feel more protected, give them peace of mind, and know that we care for them.
June 2020 Update
Shop LC has donated over 100,000 face masks to frontline workers in 34 states. We want to offer a heartfelt ‘thank you‘ to everyone who has nominated frontline workers for face masks!
Please check the bottom of this post for details on how you can nominate an organization to receive face masks.

“Thank you for acknowledging the hard work ALL nurses who are working during this Covid 19 crisis whether it is in frontline, home health, clinics, ER, and our awesome retired nurses and doctors who are helping. The Joint Commission (JCAHO) has announced that it “supports allowing healthcare workers to bring their own face masks from home…if healthcare organizations are not able to provide adequate protective equipment” I hope many nurses see that Shop LC has N95 masks . These masks are a much valued item that keeps us nurses safe and continue working. WE do what we do because we are nurses. Thank you for donating 10 of thousands and hope you will consider to continue donating N95 masks to all healthcare workers.”

[…] about Shop LC mask donations all across the United […]

Hi Theresa,
I’ve sent the information to our team handling mask distribution. Thank you for letting us know!
Hello,
I was recently watching your show and saw you had sent masks to health care facilities. I work at Copper Queen Community Hospital in Bisbee, Arizona and I know our central supply manager is having a hard time acquiring the necessary masks for our small rural hospital and rural clinics. With elective surgeries about to begin again, the need for masks has increased. Please consider us when donating any masks we could use in our facilities. Thank you for your consideration and helping out during these difficult times.

Hi Cindy,
Thank you for letting us know! I’m passing the information to our team distributing masks.
Mr. Bogus, my name is Mary Clevenger I am a regular customer of shop LC. I received a phone call from my son early this morning, who is in the Joe Ney State Jail in Hondo Texas. They got word this morning that they have their first covid-19 person. I understand all workers have masks but inmates do not. Is there a way to help these inmates with masks. They are not all bad people, and they do need help. The phone number at the Joe Ney unit is xxx-xxx-xxxx. Thank you very much for listening

Hi Mary,
We will see what we can do. I’ve reached out to you privately. Thank you for letting us know!
I talked to some of our Firefighters. They have no masks or anything else for themselves or any patient they pick up. There is nothing in the stores either. If you could donate some masks to the Fire Depts at Enchanted Hills, and Rio Rancho NE in New Mexico, it would really help I just gave them all the masks I had in the house. It’s a shame, but the State of NM is not taking care of our Police or Fire Depts at all Thank you and God Bless You.
I will buy what I can from you, when ever you have it available. I am 80 years old and wish more people would think of the ones that do everything for us when we are in need.
Hi Petra,
Thanks for letting us know! I’ll pass along your request to the team handling distribution.
My significant other works in a factory deemed essential. He goes to work everyday, grateful yet fearful also. He is a supervisor in a plating company. There are 3 divisions in the same town, Waterbury, Connecticut, totally about 250 employees. One of his employees has been diagnosed with CoVid 19 as well as relatives of employees in the factory. They are providing masks, but not 95’s. I have purchased masks from your Company for him; he wears 2 95’s a day, brings them home and we put them on our clothes line to disinfect. I know he would feel better, as I would too, if all the employees had 95 masks to wear. While they are not in the health field, they are still providing a service and are subject to infection at a greater rate than those who can social isolate. Sending masks to them all would be a blessing, a little peace of mind when most needed, and show a generous spirit. Thank you for your time.
Hi Nancy,
Thank you for sharing your story! I’ll forward your request along to the team. Please stay safe!
My wife was viewing your site and noticed that you had sent supplies, masks out to the Health care facilities. I work at Mille Lacs Health System in Onamia Minnesota and I know our purchasing manager has had a hard time in acquiring the needed masks for our nursing and providers. Is there a request that our organization can send in requesting any supplies of masks, etc from your organization?
Hi Roger,
I will forward your information to the team handling these requests. Thank you for letting us know!
U ran out of mask while i was waiting to order. xxx-xxx-xxxx can u contact me when u get some more in. Thanks. Linda Brandt

Hi Linda,
Your information has been forwarded to our Services department for assistance. Thank you for commenting!
Thanks so much! ShopLC sets a high bar. You see a need in your customers, and you meet that need. You operate on tiny profit margins, because you do enormous volume. You’ve given away over 17 million meals to kids in school. You’ve made artisans your employees which allows us, your customers, to purchase hand-made items at amazingly low prices. The very best part of hiring these artisans is that ShopLC is keeping art alive in this world. The artisans can count on a certain income instead of praying they sell a few pieces for enough to pay this month’s bills. Everyone who does business with you is pleased to do so, because we’re always treated more than fairly, whether we’re customers or vendors. You’re customer service is the best I’ve encountered in my 63 years. I rarely buy from anyone else anymore. YOU GUYS ROCK!!
Merilee, Colorado
Hi Merilee,
Thank you for the very thoughtful comment!
Hi Terry
ShopLC exemplifies what America is all about. The USA has always come together in times of crisis. We are a resilient country. I love your company’s benevolence and humanitarian philosophy. Unfortunately there are some unscrupulous predators in the world that prey upon people. Your business ethics are unparalleled. You have a lifelong customer and wishing ShopLC and Healthy happy and safe year. May GOD bless you all.
Jill
Hello Jill,
Thanks!
For some reason, I am writing this because I purchased some masked already. I am on fixed income like most seniors, and was also disappointed in the cost of shipping for ordering 2 sets of 5 and charged for each set. Unfortunately, I had spent two days making somemade for family, mailed them through USPS and they were stolen before they got them. Empty package cut opened. I would love to order some KN45, but the cost is too much!!
Hi Terry,
I’m terribly sorry to hear you are experiencing this problem. I have forwarded your comments to our Services department for assistance. You can also contact them directly at customer.service@shoplc.com, or 1-877-899-0099.
My mother wanted to purchase an N95 mask from ShopLC, but found that your masks were KN95, from China. N95 mask are from U.S. (i.e. SAS N95 8000 series).
In addition, you were charging $10 per mask (6.99 + 2.99 EACH!). The 4 layer SAS American N95 masks are hard to find (you have to keep watch & hit it just right) are online from $1 each to $3 each with free shipping (purchased in boxes of 10 or 20) and this includes N95 (not KN95) with the little breathing valves on the front or side..
If you can afford all these donations, why can’t you offer them to your elderly customers, like my mother for a price that is at least FAIR? You know you can ship 5 or 10 or 20 masks, which weigh nearly nothing and take up next to no space (since yours do not have a breathing valve), for the same cost of shipping ONE, yet you don’t charge $2.99 for the ORDER, but $2.99 additional for EVERY single MASK in the order, effectively making the cost of each mask $10. Even under these circumstances, with some folks participating in price-gouging – taking advantage of this pandemic (thankfully, actually very few) – I have seen ONLY ONE charging $10 for a $2 mask, and that is ShopLC. I’m really disappointed.
Hi Mary,
Thank you for the feedback. It will be shared with senior leadership.
I would love to know if I can get some masks donated to my hospital East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama. As a person with an immune system that is compromised, and as a nurse, I know the need to have barrier protection for caregivers of patients. Please put my hospital on your list to have masks donated. They are in dire straits as far as ppe masks. Please contact me if you need the address and phone number of the hospital. Please send the masks to Dr. Ricardo Maldonaldo in care of the infectious disease unit.
Thanking you in advance,
Krista Daniel
Hi Krista,
Thank you for sharing. I will forward your information to the team handling mask distribution for consideration. Thank you for all you do as a nurse!
Dear Shop LC,
I commend the work you are doing. If every other merchant were like you there would be no shortage of supplies in the hospitals. so Thank you for your continued kindness.
I write today in desperation.
My son in law is a doctor at Mercy Hospital 501 S 54th St, Philadelphia, PA 19143
This situation at Mercy Hospital is desperate, the doctors and nurses are in dire straights.
My son is only allowed to take a mask if he is treating a COVID-19 patient. well he can’t take one if there isn’t any. He has to go home to my daughter who has asthma, if she were to catch this virus I can’t even think of what may happen. I’ve already lost my oldest son, I can’t bare to lose another child.
They truly are in dire straights, the large hospitals seem to get more attention and I’m not taking away from them but no one is thinking of this hospitals that the community depends on.
I have a device called Phone Soap, it is used to disinfect my cell phone, I gave it to him to disinfect his mask. Him and his doctor friends are all using this one device to try and disinfect their masks.
Sir, this is ridicules, and out right wrong.
I’ve already lost my oldest son, I cant bare to loose another child.
I’m sure SHOP LC is receiving requests from all over. If you could please find it in your heart to provide Mercy Hospital with some N95 Masks I cannot begin to tell you how grateful the doctors, nurses, myself, and the whole community would be, in addition to their families. I’ve already begun to call the news stations to tell them what SHOP LC is doing in the hopes other merchants will join the fight.
I thank you in advance for everything SHOP LC is doing, not just with the masks but by feeding the world, for setting the example! Thank you!
I also work for Penn Medicine, in Phila PA.
Penn Medicine is ranked among the top 10 in the USA and we do research around the world. Becasue we are so large, and our President Donald J Trump is an alumi no one forgets about the big institutions. they are usual first on the list to get supplies.
Hi Mary,
Thank you so much for sharing your story! Your son-in-law is doing great work, and we appreciate that.
I will share the details with our team who handles mask distribution. Please continue staying safe.
