October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
If anything, 2020 is a powerful reminder that we are all in this together. We have learned that our actions have power. They have the power to protect the most vulnerable of us in a big way. When it comes to breast cancer, this remains true as well.
In 2020, an estimated 276,480 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in women in the US. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in American women, except for skin cancers. 1 in 8 women in the United States will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. Due to early detection and increased breast cancer awareness there were an estimated 375,900 fewer breast cancer deaths. There are over 3.5 million breast cancer survivors in the United States.
